Bee Adventures is a not-for-profit Outdoor Education company offering guided mountain walks, camping trips and other outdoor activities. Their aim is to give people an opportunity to get outside and switch off. They want to change communities for good by connecting people with the great outdoors and making nature accessible to all.
Bee Adventures is currently offer a monthly provision at Chadwick high school, where pupils are given the opportunity to go and discover the great outdoors and what it has to offer. Pupils go off site for a morning or a full day and get involved in lots of different outdoor educational programmes they would otherwise not be able to access. Since it’s been introduced, the programme has had a positive impact on pupils’ learning, enabling them to access a variety of outdoor experiences.
Currently pupils are working towards planning their own full day hike in the Lake District. This has included sessions on learning skills such as map reading and navigation.
